Default Ls2 Gen IV in 86 Caballero

I have an 86 Caballero and im tired of the 305 i got and was thinking about going with at 383 but i really want and ls2 so i would like to know if there are any sites or if you know how i can do the swap. I have seen Bubba drift and the Ls1 they have in the 86 elcamino and i was wondering how to do it becuse i found the ls2 and i want to keep it automatic for now so i wanted to know how to put it up with the th350 because i know Bubba Drift did it but it doesnt say how.
Thank you in advance

http://www.montecarloss.com/ls1montecarloss/

That should get you started READ it all. Its the same G-body frame as your car. John can also hook you up with some special parts to make the swap easier. Granted he did an ls1, and you want an ls2. I'm not to familure with the ls2 so you should make sure they are basically the same in order for that site to help you out.

Im putting an ls1\4l60e into my 80 el camino. Good luck.

Like Cherryelky305 said...read that website. I am doing a LS1/TH400 swap which is very, very similar to the one you plan on doing. Your TH350 will mount directly to any LSX motor! The problem is connecting the torque converter to the flexplate. There is two ways you can go by doing this, 1: buy a torque converter that has been make for a th350/400 to ls1 swap (Most of the well known verter companies have them) or 2: go the cheaper route (like i did) and buy a 6.0l LSX flexplate that has a spacer and is used for mounting the 4l80e. With this flexplate you will be able to use a regular th350/400 converter. Good luck with your swap!!!

thanks for the info and i know there are some special parts you need to buy when mounting the Lsx motor to a 350 or 400. The Ls2 from what i read about is basically an LS1 but better.

Save up a little more money and go with the Mildly modified 4L60E transmission. You will appreciate it once you start driving on the highway.
