Smile First trip to track in my First LS1 car

2000 Camaro SS A4 w/342 gears
P.I. Vigilante 3600 stall
JetHot longtubes & ORY
Stock catback
SLP lid and free ram air
self ported TB
Nitto 275/40/17 drag radials (at 32psi) no different at 20psi

Nice first and second gear burnout
Launched at 1300 rpm's every run
Left car in DRIVE with ASR OFF every run
Car hit rev limiter (cough, cough, cough 3-4 times at every 2-3 shift)
I never had car re-tuned/tweaked after converter swap and gear change (my fault and probably gave up easy 2/10ths)

I didn't make note of what rpm the car was going through traps at though

anyway...definitely a bracket car, LOL

12.74@106 1.77 60' (8.09@84 1/8th)
12.72@107 1.79 60' (8.09@84 1/8th)
12.74@106 1.77 60' (8.09@84 1/8th)
12.71@107 177 60' (8.088@84 1/8th)

I want to try once more (after a stop at the tuners) because I think 12.50's are attainable as-is, but with the car not hitting the limiter on 2-3 shift on every pass.

I also have a NOS brand dry kit 90% installed, and a 226*/.595" cam waiting to install...

Can't wait for COOL FALL air...

Back to my roots.

The Mustangs were fun and I did what I wanted to do with every one I owned, so it was time for a change.

Nice runs very consistant, I wish I could cut some 1.7 60' w/ my nittos, damn stock clutch slipping, time for a clutch upgrade.

To be honest, I was amazed at how well they worked for me. I've never drag raced on a Nitto before, but have done so on BFG DR's, MT DR's, ET Streets, Hoosier QTP's, McCrearys and of course regular slicks, but had always "heard" that the Nittos weren't all that good at the track. At my power level, I can't complain.

Not to say I won't be complaining when the nitrous is hooked up though...lol.

Thanks Fran, but I already have both covered.

Went back tonight for the heck of it...

12.75@107...little spin (1.82 60')
12.68@107....1.77 60'
12.66@107....1.76 60' and NEW BEST
12.91@107 ....spun pretty bad (1.96 60')

Hitting the limiter bad between 2 and 3 shift, but I already knew that....and it will be addressed when cam tune is done.

nice man, better than my outing tonight. Travelled over 6 hours to make the one and only pass with the car. Started to rain then a ole chevelle puked synthetic on the track and said it would take 3 hours to clean up, ****.

On the run I was nervous, lol, and not ready. Had a .6 RT and 1.9x 60 foot, the 1/4 was 13.2 dead on. I knew it had more in it, I never even foot braked it, lol. Pissed that I couldn't run again b/c the nerves were calmed down after that Atleast I got one run with it before I rip it apart this winter, that is why I am not too pissed and travelled so far.

I really wanted to dip into the 12's and think I could have. My mods are pretty dang close to yours. Mods in my sig, so congrats to you and after your cam should come some low 12's and 11's with the juice

Note, the 315 M/T drag radials were killer and hooked great but on the street practising the foot brake will bust them loose no prob so I am mad I ever got to experiment more. Also, the DA was I beleive around 2200 ft. Too lazy to look things up right now as I worked a night shift last night and never slept today so I could go racing, time for the hay.
