Im selling my 04 goat for an 05. The 05 already has ported tb, lt's with high flow cats, catback, and an hpe s-cam. It dynoed 437 rwhp. My goal is to get as close as possiable to 500. Im thinking either, afr, etp, or trick flow heads. Ive heard a lot of good stuff about the new trick flows. What do you guys think for heads? Also im going to either go with a ported ls2 intake and throttle body or a ported lsx 90 intake? what do you think will be my best bang for my buck?

The guy who owns the local speed shop has a huge .660 lift cam with Trick Flow heads and makes 525/525 in his 4.10 geared 402.

yea ive heard goo things about trick flow lately...only problem is $$ which i know the other heads are $$ too. I wish there was a head that i could port for like 1500. Im thinking to wait and see if f.a.s.t comes out with an intake for the l92's and maybe just port those

I'm going with the ETP heads
The 4 in ETP heads ,with the ls7 manifold
Let me know what you decide

I don't think you can go wrong with the ET heads. Those heads should be great with Nitrous.

The trickflows will have a slight advantage over the ETP and I mean very slight. Go with some 225 TF heads and have someone who knows what they are doing port your ls2 intake like vengeance or mamo. I would talk with vengeance while your at it regarding the cam maybe they will recommend something else to bring you closer to 500. Add an underdrive pulley while your at it. You should be able to get pretty close.

Hi 52172,

May you elaborate / develop your words please?

Need to understand your reasoning leading to your affirmation / conclusion...

Thanks for the info guys......Yea im leaning more toward either etp's or TF's. Im not sure about the lsx intake or not. Either way both will be ported. Im just not sure if the extra 700 is worth it for the lsx. will it be that big of a difference from a ported ls2? heres the mods on the car. Im taking the NOS of as soon as i get it. I want to do it on all motor. Im just not a fan of nitrous and 40$ fill everytime. I dunno i just dont want NOS. And if i do it will be a dry shot.

well I'd go with the ported fast if I were you. It may not be the best bang for the buck but those last 20 or so ponies are always the most expensive. I installed mine on my '06 GTO not long ago and it really compliments my hpe c cam. I haven't done heads yet but I'm leaning towards the trick flow....not because I know jack shit but that what's been recommended to me and the flow #'s at .600 look tough to beat.
