Street Racing & Kill Stories - Got murdered by one of those new Mustang GT500's.

Good evening.

I was on my way to buy some beer for the UFC PPV tonight.
After I got the beer I decided to drive around.
Here I am sitting at light right before the on ramp when this newer (05+, red with white rally stripes ) Mustang gets right next to me. His right turn signal is on so I let him in front of me once the light turns green and I see the "Shelby" on the back. We both then proceed to the on ramp towards 95.

We continue to drive for about 5 minutes at around 60MPH and let some faster traffic go by. By this time I kinda get the hint that he wants to go.

At this point we're right next to each other and I roll my passenger window down because he's trying to tell me something, but I couldn't hear him (my car is cammed and cut-out was open), so I just give him 3 fingers and he nods.

1st race: We slow down to 40MPH. We hit it and I put about a car on him until 50MPH or so then he just walks the fuck outta me ( :gtfo: Trans Am). He had like 4 cars on me at 95+MPH.

2nd race: 50MPH roll race. We were pretty even for about 5 seconds, then he just kept going... I slowed down at around 100MPH and he had me by at least 6 cars. :zzz: He just kept going and didn't slow down after that for thumbs up or any of that bullshit, which I'm kinda glad he did.

This is my first death on the street.
At least I'm drinking beer and he's not.

He wasn't stock. Out of the box they leave something to be desired, but really wake up after the induction is opened up and a pulley swap.

don't get me wrong, i'd definitely drive one (and mod the SHIT out of it), but they're heavy cars

Just did a little research and found out that they only run 12.9 :jest:.... So this one I raced def. had to be modded.
That's so sad for a "500Hp" car...

Now that I think about it, he def. had to be modded to pull me that hard.
Don't let the hype fool you, out of the box they're on par with the 03-04 cobras, but like I said, they wake up with minimal mods, just like the termies. They're also cooler than anything I own. :cry:

A pulley and bolt-on GT500 would've really walked him. Good Death and good runs to the OP. If they were both stock the T/A would've lost...what does it matter both cars were modded! :lurk:

A pulley and bolt-on GT500 would've really walked him. Hence the 4-6 cars as posted. That's a more than a CAI pull for the 500 to pull 4-6 cars on a cammed f-bod.

Ya, even at your level, you'd prolly need a good 30-40 at the wheels to keep up or take him, nice #s though for cam only.

I got that time from the first Google search result I saw (some magazine comparing the Vette vs GT500). :mullet:

That's so sad for a "500Hp" car...

They're faster than 12.9 stock with a good drver. Ford's Evan Smith ran a 12.2 at 116 or 118 in a bone stock one.
