My girl seems to have run a hell of a lot better at the track than I thought she would, and even better than most LS1's on here with similar or more mods.

r/t .288
60' 1.988
330 5.616
1/8 8.551 @ 84.62
1000 11.084
1/4 13.24 @ 104.65

Its a 99 T/A automatic, GU5 rear. The only mods to the car is a magnaflow catback w/cutout, factory y, factory manifolds, an Ebay lid, a/c delete, an LS6 hotcam untuned. She runs Firehawk wide ovals, which as far as I know are street tires. Everything else is stock.

Does this sound on par with what she should be running? Her 60 ft. really impressed me, she just needs to work on the r/t.

maybe ,maybe not? I ran a 8.6@84 with just a lid and cutout only in a 02' WS6.

There was a stock T/A w/ SLP lid at Sunshine in Tampa Fri night , he ran 8.61, 8.58 and 8.55.
I ran 8.14, 8.15 and 8.15 in my LS2 GTO.

Not bad for a 99 auto, get a stall, and a tune, solid 12's.
With just a lid and ORY with cutout I went 12.8's at 108mph, but M6 and nittos mid. 1.9's 60'.

Shes dying for long tubes, ory, tune, and a stall (in that order). I would have never thrown a cam in a car with stock headers but the cam was free and I had a day off work.

I was confused because in rather GMHTP or HPP magazine they had the STS turbo formula on MICKEY THOMPSONS and didnt even break a 2 second 60 ft.

My buddy's bone stock '02 WS6 A4 went 8.40s with the 3.23s.

my 02 SS a4 stock went 13.1 at 105 stock and my 02 ws6 m6 went 13.1 at 110 stock!

the car is not a freak! lol

Not a freak. With my '00 Camaro back in '02, I went 13.0 with a lid, catback, and the free ram air mod. Full weight with the GU2 (2.73 gear option). That is still good time for her. Wait until he cool air hits and she gets the LTs, tune, and stall. Don't forget the sticky tires :burn:

No, it's not crazy fast. The weather was nice and cold and the track (Rt 66) was working really well. That is what most lid, exhaust, and free mod cars run regardless of rear end gear.

I guess you wouldn't believe what the car in my signature runs with a 100% bone stock longblock. I'll give you a hint, it is not legal to run at any NHRA tracks any more due to no roll bar ;)

Def not a freak, bc my car had 105k miles on it the first time i took it to the track. She was bone stock except for a chokemaster that was rusted out lol and nothing else. I pulled an 8.74 @ 84mph with like a 2.3 or 2.4 60' lol.

I guess maybe the cam without the tune is hurting the car :( The 60 foot is there but the mph isn't. I believe what the LS1 is capable of. My friend, well not really my friend, but this guy I know.. Well actually I dont like the guy at all. So this guy I hate ran a 12.5 with a 3800 stall, full suspension and a 3.73 (I believe) without even a lid or catback. Pulled the front left tire off the ground somethin fierce (he said he didnt stall it up all the way but w/e ). Well, thanks for the input guys now I know where we need to be at with this bird. Headers and tune lol. :usa:

Honestly, its what I believe a LS6 hotcam (from what I was told). That would be 219/228 .525 .525 112. Should I put the stock cam back in and do the headers, stall, and suspension, sell this cam and then buy something bigger like a TR224 cam or something along those lines?

I'd keep the cam in there and throw a nice set of rockers on it to up the lift. And definitely throw a converter in there to take full advantage of the cam.

The other reason I was considering the stock cam again for a while was Im not 100% sure which cam this is :bang: (since I was just told it was). At the time I thought the guy knew what he was talkin about. After a while of me learning and I guess he wasn't, I realized he didnt know anything about cars. So at least if I get another cam Im sure which one im workin with. The rocker swap is a good idea though.

Took my 00 Z28 to the track this past Sunday. Mods on the car are a K&N FIPK, some cheap Ravin muffler, I heard it's a flowmaster knock off, All the free mods. Running on radial sumic tires. I think It has had hypertech tuning on it also. I'm pleased with the results at the first time running at a track.

Took my wife's car to the track Sunday...13.00@107.35mph. I was shocked! There were 3 other stock LS1 cars there running 13.40's-13.50's. I'm beginning to think her's is a freak car..

I would reverse that order....your gonna get WAY more out of a stall than anything else......stall,tune,DRs your in the 7s

At my track stock LT1s run 14.9-15.1 and stock ls1s run 13.9-14.2. An LS1 GTO was going 15.2s and an LS2 GTO was going 14.4s.. not sure on !driver mod but that was what they were consistently doing. Really depends on your track, weather, etc and how others are doing with similar mods.
