Please no get a 12 bolt or 9" comments, I just need info on what I AM going to do. I have a 95 ex highway patrol Camaro with an A4/3.23 posi. I am converting the car for mild strip only use and want to go with a mini spool. The mini spool mfg.'s all say that I need the open differential, do I need just the carrier the open diff. is in or do I need a complete open diff. rearend housing? - and what prevents using the mini spool in my posi carrier? - is there a clearance issue somewhere?

With the mini spool, you should only need the housing, as it replaces all of the spider gears. Not sure why a posi housing wouldnt work, unless the beveled cone surfaces get in the way of the spool. Go to a junkyard and see if you can find one out of a s10 or something
