Default got a t56

well ive done the first major step towards my 6 speed swap. yesterday i drove down to georgia and bought a 94 model out of a trans am. its got 96k miles on it. it came with a flywheel and clutch kit which appears to have some use left on it so i am thinking of throwing it in there and seeing how it does. it doesnt look stock and it would same me about 300 dollars. what do you guys think? start fresh or take my chances?

i havent unbolted the p plate from the flywheel been kinda busy but from the side it looks like its got some meat left. even another lt1 guy who has worked on the m6's said it looks in good shape from the side. ill take it apart soon and maybe get a better idea

thanks man. i still havent got to take it apart yet, i dont know when i will be able to get pictures either but i will try. im probably gonna get the flywheel machined like you said. its tempting to just buy a brand new flywheel, clutch and p plate and know that everything is in good shape, but its also tempting to save my 400 dollars. ive mentioned before that i am saving money for this swap at about 400 dollars a month so it would set me back a month on this project so its a tough decision... still got a lot of other stuff to buy also

id say as long as nothing is broken or cracked and its got some life in it use it make sure all your othe stuff is workign and not leaking so it wont hit you as a bunch of money right now...then in 2or3 months you can get a new one if needed

btw dont get the flywheel resurfaced if your goana reuse that clutch

ok thanks for the input. now i have another problem. i was showin the tranny to my buddy and he was pulling it through the gears and he put it in fourth *i think* and now it wont come out . ive tried moving it while turning the input shaft and the output. i took the shifter out and everything looks fine. i also took the plate in front of the shifter off and everything looks good as far as i can tell. any ideas?

What A4 trans are you running? The 93 had a 700r4 right? If you have a good working 4l60e by chance I'd probably grab that from you.
