Default Intake Gasket Questions

I have a 94 LT1 and I just did a top end build on it. When I had my heads rebuilt they had to shave 30 thousandths off because of warpage. Now When I reinstalled the intake there is a gap thick enough to put a quarter in at the front and the back of the intake. How am I going to keep this from leaking oil? Thanks.

Really? I think mine are shaved like .030 or .035 and I haven't run into any problems? What kind of head gasket are you using? Do you know how thick it is?

RTV is your friend. Mine was shaved more than that and I had no problems.

They are stock felpro gaskets. I was also wondering if I would have a problem with clearance issues? I put an LT4 hot cam, and 1.6 rrs in it.

The front and back were sealed with RTV, not gaskets.

Thats correct, but now since the heads were shaved it has more of a gap than stock.

No I have a much bigger cam w/out any issues so far. Put over 4k on the setup, and I'd say it would have made some noises by now.

Milling the heads shouldn't lift the intake manifold higher off the block at all, and if it did something is wrong.

It might have always had that much of a gap, but I never noticed it. How much of a gap should there be?
