i just called SLP for the fun of it...the guy said they made 349 SOM SS-top cars....mine is 1 of 13 that came with the BFG G-force tires and a 6-speed

i tried to get a less specific number, i.e. how many SOM SS t-top M6 fully loaded (Y2Y) cars there were, but he couldn't get that number....


....but i'll take 1 of 13...

so who all else has a "rare" SOM car like mine?

I wouldn't consider a tire option something to make a car more "rare". Color, tranny, interior color, t-tops yes, but not tires.

tires are a normal wear item, they have never made a car more collectible.

i know mine just like yours is 1 of 496 total and 1 of 234 that came with t-tops and a six speed other then that no idea.. i would like to find out some more in-depth number though

i called looking to see if they could tell me how many 2001 SOM SS M6 T-Top cars there were optioned like mine...= Y2Y package...level 2 bilstein, auburn dif., floor mats, portfolio, plaques/keychains, etc....i figured it was a 1 of 4x/5x/6x....maybe 70, i dunno

i had no idea they even considered the tires an option...i laughed when he told me that it was 1 of 13 due to the tires...i think he thought i was just some kid wanting to brag about my super-rare-ultra-collectible SS Camaro....either way, it's a fun fact to make idiots at car shows drool over...

haha thats cool that your stock tires make it rare. do you still have those tires on it?

mine happens to be 1 of 5 granatelli camaros from 2001. according to granatelli, he built some LT1 camaros with superchargers, and never built a run of LS1 cars, until 2001 when he made 5. too bad mine isnt supercharged.

when i bought the car used i had no idea is was a granatelli camaro, or that it was 1 of 5.

Mine is just a poor ol ebony interior M6 t-top car with the 345hp option. No fobs, plaques, mats, shocks, or different diffs. Im sure there is prob still less than 100 optioned that way.

01 SS Black on Black. Here the Nuts, 1 of 6 with M6, T-Tops and 1LE Koni. I Just got lucky when I Bought this one. Was also a Test car for Jets hot in 03. Theres a Guy on here who has a 01 Sunset Orange with the same options as mine. His is 1 of 1 !! Got to love that **** !!

my car is one of 248 Trans Ams that came in Cayenne Red and even less that came with the neutral/black interior. Since this color option was only available in 98 I think its pretty rare

i like those cayenne cars. i've never seen one in person, you should post some more pice, that car looks sweet.

i think saying that my car is 1 of 13 is a little bogus....just because they broke it down to what tires came on it....i'm sure only 13 cars were optioned like that with those tires...but that doesn't seem much like a collectible trait to me...

1996-1998 cayenne red was offered. I have a 1996 TA.
Looks maroon without much light, orange with some sun, and almost pink with too much sun. What a color. That's why I bought the car, among other reasons.

i was curious where id go to find this type of info out , i went to a chevy dealer to run the vin and get the printout , but it just gave me where it was built , when it was built and all the options ...... full y loaded ( everything possible) 96 z28 vert in polo green metallic. i want to know more!
