Appearance & Detailing - 6 Months, New Suede Interior, and 1 Accident Later

2007 has had its ups and downs for my TA. She went on stands in late March to have the interior gutted and replaced with suede. This was in preparation for the Texas Heat Wave in July. Got the car all finished a week prior and the ONE DAY it was out for a drive it was backed into by a woman on a cell phone. That was just over two months ago and today, September 25th, 6 months later, she is back on the road again and was taken to and home from work today. Damn it feels good to have a complete car again!
I do need to say thank you to a few special people on this board.
Most importantly Mr. Tropi-Care Chris. He taught me how to detail cars, taught me about the little details in changing and modifying a car and I am in awe of this guy everytime I get to pick his brain or watch him work. I am truly lucky to have him here in Austin and again, thank you very much Chris. He painted and clearcoated my wheels to change their color just a little bit.
Secondly, my dad. Wilecoyote on this board. He's been around since I was about 5 1/2 and has been my very best friend and role model from day one. I got dealt a pretty shitty dad from the start, but he stepped in and has been a great motivator and helper ever since. He keeps me motivated and always has a positive attitude about what's going on with me. Thank you :D
Ok enough of the sappy stuff. On with the pictures :) Keep in mind, the car sat for 6 months. No wash, no wax, nothing. We washed it yesterday and this is how it looks w/ 6 month old Tropi-Care on it. I'd say it did pretty good :D
Yes I know both stickers are expired. I'm workin on it ;)

That is a really nice and clean TA.
Sometimes people (or in this case your car) get dealt bad blows, but when all is said and done, the rewards outweigh the anguish. In those situations, it is nice to have someone that supports you and keeps you going. I'm glad I'm surrounded by people like that in my life, and it seems to me you are too.

I'm happy for you and glad everything is working out for you. We all need special people in our lives to fall to and its nice its another ls1 guy in your dad. Car is very different but nice. I've never seen those wheels or that paint scheme for the front. Did you put suede over your speaker covers? Good luck with the car.

Thanks for the comments so far guys. I know the car isn't everyones cup of tea, but it works for me and that's what matters :D
I've had the seats in there since December of last year and they are still just as black as the day I bought them. Not saying they won't fade, but they have been in there nearly a year now.
The headliner, door panels, speaker grilles, rear seat delete, amp rack, and sub box are all covered in it. The car does have 5% tint all around, and it only sees the light of day maybe 3 or 4 days a month. I'm hoping it will stay good and black for a long time to come :)

Love the stripes on the hood, it makes it look that much better. If your wheels were chrome though, that car would be near perfect appearance wise.

how does the seatbelt sit on your body when it goes through the harness slot like that? does it still rub against your neck?

Nope doesn't rub against my neck at all. It pushes down on your shoulder a bit more than the stock setup does, but it doesn't rub your neck at all like it does with the stock seat. I actually like it setup this way better.

my one suggestion is to ditch the front plate and put the bird cover back on there. I know, I know, it's a law in the Republic, but it'll look way better.
Otherwise, nice ride my man.

I know he answered the question already but just in case you wanted to retain stock seatbelt loops it can be done. I did it on my car (VERY easy) and did a write-up under my old name DEMONBIRD if you search for it...
