Default LS1 in 2003 s-15 power steering question

I have done a lot of reading on this sight during my swap for the ls1, and has been very helpful on were to find parts, and info to do this. The only question I have for all s-10ers is what was done for the high pressure line on the power steering pump to the stock gear box??
I have a corvete pump and stock box. I have tryed a couple of things and all have failed. I would like to solve this problem so I can drive my truck before the weather changes and it sits all winter.
Any help in this matter will be greatly helpful. I'm sure that I'm not the only lost one on this subject.
Again thanks for the great fourm.

When you say that the things you have tried have failed, what do you mean?

Are the fittings different, are the hoses rupturing?

I'm using a 2005 Corvette pump and an AGR steering Gearbox. The lines bolted right up. (2000 Blazer)

The stock s-15 high pressure line is configured differently for the vette pump. I tried high press. rubber line with high press clamps, and with no luck they fail as soon as the wheels turn. I then went with an custom hose from a local hose shop and got screwed, due to the fact that they told me all I had to due was cut the fittings and use them in the hose they made for me.
I do not know what the stock box is exlactly, but I do know the stock hose will not work with the angle of the vette pump output postion.

So you are running a stock corvette pump....to a stock S-series power steering box. Just use the C-5 high pressure line. You have to make a u-bend but it works just fine. Mine has been rolling like this for a long time no issues.

Another method is to use Russell Braided Stainless PowerSteering Hose & Fittings. Don't use regular braided hose, it really isn't intended for that application.

You'd need about 2' of hose (the -6 size), I think the shortest length they sell is 3'.

You'll need 2 hose fittings for the ends of the hose. I used 90degree Elbows.

You will also need 2 adapter fittings (to mate to the pump and gearbox). One is 16mm, other is 18mm.

Maybe not the cheapest solution, but it works. I will say that the output from the C5 pump is close to the drive belt with the adapter and elbow.

The russel powerflex power steering line is a great choice and is rated to 2500 psi. The line uses a teflon inner liner that requires the use of the teflon style fittings.

Thanks for the help!!
I was able to locate aeroquip adapters (PN#'s FCM2608 16mm to -6, and FCM2609 18mm to -6) for about 20 bucks for both. I made a hyd. line at work rated for 3500psi, a little much, but it was all i had at the time. I used a straight on one end, and a 90deg. on the other end with about 2' of hose. I again thank to all for the help, and will be looking for more info on mods in the future (aka.. A\C system next spring).

Thanks again for such a great forum and help.

Just got back in town from work. I will try to get pics up this weekend. The truck drives GREAT!!!!!!!!!! Couple of bugs needed to be worked out but other than than that I'm verry happy I did it. I wanted to do something like a long time ago, but glad I waited for something better from chevy to come along. It was a little more complex, but a lot more fun to do and drive!!!!!
