4th gen carrier in 3rd gen rear end?

Can you install a 4th gen POSI carrier in a 3rd gen rear end? Are the splines the same?

Late third gens had the same spline count as 4th which is 28 spline.
If the splines aren't the same you can usually change the carrier and axles.

it was either 87 or 88 they changed the axels to the 28 spline in the 3rd gens
sorry its been a lil while since i delt w/ one

you could check thirdgen.org to make sure
