help me keep ls1 pride!!!
so i got my 98 formula and i kicked the **** out of my best friends svt contour turbo (which he thought was the baddest ride ever) so this jackass went and bought a stealth twin turbo! hes running 18 psi and says hes making 400awhp.
hes a liar so i say about 360ish. i need a t56 rebuild so we dont plan on racing until i take my car out of the garage next spring. over winter im doing a full t56 rebuild, ls7 clutch w/ new hydr, ls6 intake and porting my tb, will i win??

Not if it has 400awp. But if you think he is lying and only has 360, just throw a cam in and youll have no problem taking him from a roll. Those are heavy *** cars.I used to have a stealth TT with around 350awp and it pulled *** from a dead stop but their too heavy. If your a good driver, with a cam you might be able to take him from a stop, b/c all he has to do is a 5500rpm dump and hes gone

those kind of cars lack torque and power under the curve. get long tubes and a good tune on top of the intake mods and you'll beat him even if he isnt lying. just dont go from a dig unless you get a bigger rear and some MT dr's lol. go from a roll and you wont have a problem.

So this guy who is your FRIEND is a liar? Hmmmm. Sounds like a great friend...
Get a sticky tire,some 4.10 gears,edelbrock headers,ls6 intake,and a tune and hope you don't blow up your rear end.
If you want to humiliate him get a cam and/or spray.
Oh make sure you can drive. The good driver mod can be worth more than a 150shot!

the trans has got to be the weakest link on the car. I had the car for about 2 years and had some tranny problems that got fixed under warranty and it always had problem going into 2nd gear. It sucked ***, but i did like the awd and aws. They definately lack power under the curve, but make up for it from a dead stop launch, so definately go from a roll.

From Edmund's review:
"The Dodge Stealth ran from 1991-'96 and initially came in four trim levels: base, ES, R/T and R/T Twin Turbo. Base versions were powered by a 3.0-liter V6 with 164 hp and 185 pound-feet of torque. The ES and R/T stepped up to the plate with a 24-valve DOHC version with 222 hp and 201 lb-ft of torque. The R/T Twin Turbo boasted 300 hp and 307 lb-ft. Performance of the latter was thrilling, with zero to 60 mph taking just over 5 seconds"
Most Stealths I've seen did good to get high to mid 13s stock. My WS6 ran 13.05 with a just lid, Eagle F1 GS-D3s, P&P TB, and the TB coolant bypass. Most LS1 rides like ours hit mid to low 13s stock. If his is stock, you should win as long as you can drive. Lots of races come down to drivers. I've beat cars with way more power than mine due to bad drivers. You have lots more torque, but comparable HP. Just be sure you have good sticky tires.

if hes running 18lbs on stock turbo's hes just sucking hot air anyway. prob making the same power as at 16lbs. 400 flywheel with those is prob only 340-350 anyway due to the added power loss through the drivetrain. basic mods for you should get the job done, your lt's with a good exhaust, intake and a pulley with some good rubber and you wont have anything to worry about. except for the driving part =]

Those cars are pig heavy, overly complex pieces of ****, mostly just money pits. Their only advantage over anything is the fact that they have AWD for the launch, but launching a heavy, 10+ year old AWD car from a dig is going to result in a LOT of broken ****.

http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...arch+DragTimes Most stock Stealths run mids 13s or higher.
Most Formulas run low 13s or high 12s stock http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...arch+DragTimes If you're modded with LS6 intake and put on a lid and sticky tires, you should be mid-high 12s. Gotta have good tires, and gotta be able to launch and shift effectively.

Umm, 405 hp C5 Z's put out 340-350ish to the wheels, a VR-4 will end up being very low 300's...they have alot of drivetrain loss. Plus the fact that they are so damn heavy!

ya you will beat him most likley his car is around 3800 pounds, and you are aroung 3500 pounds so do the power to weight ratio from there. from a roll you will beat him but i think he might beat you in the 1/8th because of awd and you will most likely take him in the 1/4. Do you have any exhaust work done to your car?
