Default clutch question?

My 97 lt1 camaro off the start has a hard time catching and im thinking my clutch is going out. In order to fix that do I need a whole clutch assembly or just a new flywheel?
Thanks in advance

you need a new clutch assembly. Also you need to take the flywheel to a machine shop to be resurfaced.

Yep. You'll need a new clutch assembly and get the flywheel resurfaced unless it is somehow damaged beyond where that's possible.

Yeah, make sure you get the flywheel resurfaced. I didn't do it when I had my tranny rebuilt and new clutch installed cuz it "looked" fine; I had to drop the tranny all over again to get to the flywheel.

Absolutely resurface the flywheel and also,...Make sure to replace the rear main seal while you're in there. THey are cheap insurance for a bad day.
