Default Can anyone help explain the TH375

I visit the message board on 454ss.com. Everyone there thinks their transmissions are th375's because all those trucks have th400's with 27 spline output shafts.
I know they haven't put out a th375 since the 70's, and the ones they did never went in trucks, had 375THM on the tail housing, and the tail housing has a different trans mount location. And thicker pistons/fewer clutches.
Can anyone elaborate on this more?
And can I share your reply with them?

th375 was only in the 70's and HAD th375 cast into the tailhousing.

I have a 27 spline th400 but its really a 3l80HD the big HD cast into the case is the big give away.

EXACLY! I'm trying to prove this to them.
I had a 1988 GMC Sierra 2500 I got from my friends dad who bought it brand new with 12 miles on it. Trans was never out. I took it out to rebuild it and it had HD cast on the top and the 27 spline output.
It also had a tail housing bushing problem and the tail housing needed to be replaced, thats when I found out the 375 tail has the mount in a different location.
