Default Interested in Procharger but my compression is kinda high

Is anyone out there running one with compression as high as mine? How much boost would be safe at this compression?

I could use a thicker head gasket. Right now I'm using a 0.040" Cometic with 62cc AFRs.

Another 6 grand ready to be spent lol. What do you guys think?

We've done quite a few ProCharger installs with 11.0/1 compression. You can always add a methanol injection kit if your compression ratio is higher than 11.0/1. Bob

Bob, I'm at 11.3:1 with my 59 cc afr 205's... is meth required if your running an intercooler? I know we had talked about this before but I've lost the info you gave me. slight hi-jack here but I guess I'm not the only one with flat top pistons looking for FI now.

That's a good point, Bob. I had totally forgotten about meth injection. (My local tuning guru is real big on that stuff.)

I would run meth along with the intercooler. The methanol will drop the inlet air temps down another 35 to 40 degrees, and will ensure that you don't see any spark knock.
We used methanol on this 11.0/1 engine and added an APS twin turbo kit.

I would not of tried running 9.2 lbs of boost with a turbo with 11.0/1 compression of 93 octane fuel without the methanol injection. Bob

Bob that car is incredible! Him and I have gone down similar paths, except I opted for the 347. I like the APS intercooler set up and they have a nice drop in tank system as well but I can't afford that twin turbo kit. I'd like to combine those elements with a d1SC from you. But you know how money is. I just dropped all the AFR coin and had my 90 and 205's Mamofied so funds are low right now. I might try and peice it together slowly over the next 5 months til spring time.

Sounds like a good plan! Bob

You can easilly supercharge the car.I'd be more worried about the rod/pistons more than the compression.

Right now we are putting together a package for a 12-1 Comp Vette. D1 with lots of meth.Car already makes 540rwhp NA

I've got a D1SC eight rib setup that I would sell. PM me if you are interested.

Hi Don. I never thought I'd be looking into FI for this car, but here I am now.

I'd hate to have the stock short block pop and ruin my heads....but the idea of having that kind of bolt-on powah is very tempting.

I know if anyone could come up with a good set up and tune that would be reasonably...ahh...make it last for a season or so, it would be you.

Any guesses what such a set up would entail? What kind of boost levels and power gains? I suppose meth injection would be a good idea. A thicker head gasket and a different cam? Definitely a stronger fuel pump, injectors, colder plugs, and a wide band AFR guage. Yikes! It's going to cost a few $

Quick Reply: Interested in Procharger but my compression is kinda high
