New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - car value

I know it's hard to give a good indication of what a car is worth but after selling my Trans Am I am looking at a 98 z28 6spd. the body is in pretty good condition except for some gay striping option the car came with.

it's a 98 Z28 w/ 103000 miles, 6spd, intereior and exterior are in good shape except for a ding in the quarter and some clear peeling on the front bumper.

the only bad things about the car is I can hear a humming noise when driving it, it seems like it is coming from right in front of the firewall so I was thinking power steering the way it sounded but it does it all the time not just when turning. and there is also a squeak from the right from when on bumpy surfaces. any ideas on what these problems could be?

oh and also it's hard to get into 3rd under hard acceleration so I was curious as to how much a tranny rebuild and clutch replacement would cost?

with these problems do you guys think it would be worth 6500?

It's worth about $6000 minus the cost of repairs. Squeak is probably just worn suspension, but who knows what the humming could be. Tranny rebuilds are not cheap if done correctly. Unless you can get it for a steal, like $4000, I'd keep looking, just my opinion.

I would guess the Z28 is worth the TA - 1000$

it depends on if you plan on fixing it your self. id give 6k for it and fix it myself but if you plan on having a shop rape you id look for one with nothing wrong with it
