Default Dyno'd the LT1 IROC today

Well just got in from the dyno, the car was previously set up for nitrous so there is some timming backed out of it, and the rev limited is set too low. He could only rev it up to 5850RPM and it kept climbing. He said if I bring it it for a tune I should be at 350-355 RWHP.

Plans are to swap the Hotcam out for a GM847, possible 1 3/4 long tubes and maybe spray it over the winter.

Three runs made

Run 1
311.2HP@5640RPM, 310.7ft.lbs@4880
Run 2
309.6HP@5540RPM, 306.9ft.lbs@4740RPM
Run 3
312.8HP@5640RPM, 309.0ft.lbs@4780RPM

Over all I am a little bummed bc I was hoping for 350 but all I can think is it does a 12.9@107 now and There is A LOT left in the motor, and after the cam, headers, N2O I am hoping for a High 11.

I am also getting a 8.8" with 3.55s fabbed up over the winter, I just need to find a site that has some info about the axles etc.

I am waiting for the videos to upload so I shall post them shortly.

Yea theres definetly alot left in the motor man. you can spin it almost 1000 rpms higher you will see more power and time!

Sounds like a pretty nice car. What does it weigh? I thought thos 80's were pretty light.

It is pretty unlikely to make 350 to the wheels through a stalled auto with a hotcam. It is hard for an M6 to put that to the wheels with a hotcam(I want to see dyno sheet scans, not just hear-say). The 12.9 shows that it is running well - forget the "low" dyno numbers.

BTW - I would not go 847 in a low cube LT1. Too much cam and will want to spin too high to make decent times...Unless you like your autos with 4.10 gears and 4k stalls

Yeah man don't worry about your dyno numbers. Your car runs good. You got a big advantage being its as light as it is too.
