Please help fast I just installed the "short belt mod" bypassing the power steering pump and I need to know if it ok to leave the bottom bolt out of the altenator for a long period of time? Would it be ok to drive 50 miles to the track like that way? Thanks

Re: Please help fast I know when people install 6.0L Vortec blocks into their cars, there is an issue with the LS1 alternators because they have 3 bolts, and there are only 2 on the block. I know alot of people leave that bolt out with no problems. So, you can risk it if you want.

Re: Please help fast Sorry about the late reply. I just made it on time at the track tonight and was able to do the short belt mod there. It only took a couple of minutes to change. It helped alot. Previous best was 12.61@111.16 and tonight I ran 12.50@112.21 not bad for aten dollar belt.
