Default Which hi-flow cat to buy?

I am having a custom y built after i get my headers, and am wondering which cats to buy. I want either Catco or Carsound. Is there a specific part nuber I should be getting or do all cats do the same thing? I will be getting a cat that is 3" in and 3" out. I'm pretty sure they are universla, but want to make sure.

Merge collectors will be 3" and the y will be 3" also.

Get Random Technologies 3" Cats.. they are the highest flowing.

LS1SPEED.COM has them.

I can't justify $260 for a cat that is not going to give me much flow over a Catco or a Carsound.

Barry from QTP did flow testing and I believe he chose the Catco for the best bang for the buck.

I am looking for a cat that costs around 50 dollars. Carsound and Catcos go for that much on ebay.

My real question is, are all Catco and Carsound cats universal or car-specific in a custom installation?
