Default Stock studs and prostars w/grinded calipers? Did search, no straight answer.

I put on my front prostars, I grind the calipers to make them fit, no spacer.

The stock stud hardly comes all the way through, is this ok with shank style lugs?

When I did all the grinding to get get the Pro Stars on I was under the assumption that the stock studs would be ok on the front as long as I did not use a spacer. I do have 1/2" x 3" studs in the back.

I plan to put the 3" studs in the front, but thought I could get away with it for now. Will I be ok?

TYIA!

If they look at them it sure wont pass tech, even with the ARP studs in the front prostars without a spacer are right on the border. Takes like an hour to change the front studs, dont even have to take the hubs off the car.

I understand they wont pass tech. I just meant until I get the front studs in, is it ok to run with these. The track I go to has 0 tech, lol you driving it in and paying $10 = tech. I just did not realize until last minute how short they seem and want to know if it will be ok with a trip or 2 to the track.

Lot of guys drive with spacers and stock studs so I'm sure you will be OK to drive it without spacers. Just make sure and retighten them a few times if everything is new, they tend to come loose.

I've seen quite a few people shear off stock wheel studs with prostars.

You could also do this:

That is on the rear though. This is on the front, and I am using shank style lugs.

Had the car to the track twice now with both wheels coming off the ground and havent had any issues. I have been checking the torque though and everything seems good.

I don't see why you wouldn't put longer wheel studs in...

Its only risking the car and your self...

I use the prostars with no spacers and stock front studs. I used the ARP in the rear but not the front. The rule in engagement is that amount of thread to stud engagement has to be equal or greater than the diameter of the stud in order to attain full strength. anymore engagement is not necessary to achieve full tensiel strength of the stud. I measured and had over .600 of engagement using the stock studs. The 12mm studs are less than .500 diameter.
