Wow, that is scary...considering my GF drives a '00 GT!! The even more sad thing about this is that if this was more widely known, maybe more people would have bought an f-body instead, thus saving it from extinction :mad: :cry:

No matter how good the sales of the f-body could've been, GM had already made up it's mind to kill it anyways. It was purely political.

I tend to blow off the whole crash testing thing in my car buying criteria, but this IS interesting. I mean, concievably you could be an innocent bystander at a redlight, get rear-ended by a non-attentive granny (or similar road hazard :) ) and proceed to burn to death. That would suck! I hate Fords...

Thanks for the info Bouncels1, My brother is looking hard at a new mach 1 right now. I'll be sure he gets this report. BTW there was a ceremony here in town today for the one year anniversary of two officers being burned to death in a crown vic after they hit a guardrail. :(
