Question Intermitant Whine

I have noticed recently that after a couple of hard runs, I hear a whine noise from the front of my engine. All the internals are stock with 34k miles. After a few minutes, the noise goes away. Waterpump, tensioner, I don't know were else to look. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your AIR pump to me. The AIR pump injects warm air into your catalytic converters to help them heat up faster, and it shuts off after the engine starts to warm up a bit. It usually shuts off after around 2 minutes or so in the summer. When it turns off, it sounds like a tiny little vacuum just shut off.

I'm sure it's not the AIR pump. sounds a bit like a quiet gear drive.
