Default how to instal water pump drive shaft

just wondering if any of you guys have got any tricks to installing the water pump drive shaft seal because the tool is almost 100 bucks

sharpie pen cap with the pocket clip removed and sanded smooth. appropriate size socket. I've thought about having the tool made up..

do you mean the freeze plug? the sort of brass looking thing that pops into the back ? i JUST did this so pm me if you need to

I used a number of sockets to stretch out the seal, started with a small socket then worked my way bigger until you are able to slip in on the driveshaft coupler which should line up flush with the spline then you can just slide it over

oohh...you guys are talking about a stock water pump. sorry transam1517,if i confused you,i was talking about an electric one...
