The lid gives you most of the gain. Pick up a lid for $100, and look for a CAI setup (FTRA, SSRA,...) unless you have an SS/WS6. With a WS6/SS, seal the hood and be done with it. Fram filters are great, someone here dynoed one on a moderately modded car for a consistent 2HP gain over a K&N. A CAI and a lid would give you excellent gains, probably around 15-20HP.

I bought the SLP FLO PAC first and I definately felt a difference despite what many people say here. Then I bought the MAC mids with MAC cat back and felt a difference yet again. The only thing you shouldn't waste your money on is the MAF.

Alot of people say dont waste money on smooth belows cuz it doesnt flex when you rev your engine, and the ram air people say make your IAT higher.

If you had stock induction beforehand to campare it to, even the FRA mod would have made a huge difference for you.

SS/WS6 hoods have a 1" gap between the airbox and the hood that allows the passage of hot engine compartment air. Sealing this gap results in lower IATs, air pressure improvement above 50mph, and consequently more power. Someone here posted this chart a while back. You can see the effects of FRA mod & WS6 hood for comparison.

or make your own. either way the aftermarket bellows arent a miracle product

on a side note, makes it easier to do a wet shot if you wanna spray in there.

I bought the kit and love it. When you put in the ram air shroud you can really tell the difference in the amount of air getting to the air box.

How do you seal the hood? I've been looking to be rid of my SLP intake. It's the older meatl top section, all it does is raise my IAT's.

Here's how I did mine:
I spent about a hour or two on mine and $25. This one's Patrick G's, and it's nicer:
