I'm using a Beck sheet metal intake on the new motor and was wondering what intake setup you were running (those with sheet metal intakes)?

I have the Nick Williams 90mm throttle body on there now, would I benefit from going bigger?

I'm getting rid of the MAF and doing a speed density tune.

I'm not sure to continue to reuse the TSP 85mm lid, use a cone filter at the end of the throttle body, etc. Actually, that's the only 2 setups I can think of.

Here's a quick rundown on the setup to help better answer my questions:

HKE built
LS3/L92 block (4.065 bore)
Callies 4" crank
416 cu. in.
13.5:1 compression
254/266 .650 112 +4 custom HKE cam
Melling high volume oil pump
LS3/L92/LS1 GM rockers w/Harland Sharp mod
Morel lifters
ARP bolts/studs throughout
Greg Good LS3/L92 heads w/titanium intake, Ferra hollow stem exhaust, Patriot Gold Extreme dual spring kit
Beck sheet metal intake

No MAF here and a 90mmTB. I have SD tune also! Be ready to spin it high to benefit from the Beck intake. Good Luck. Erik and Greg are the best in the business! Beck knows what he is doing also! Let us know how it does!!

I bet you can get a coupler from pepboys(etc.) and run it to either a lid or a K+N

Basically the main thing I wanted to know is if I will benefit from a bigger throttle body and if I should keep the lid or do some other setup? This a drag only car.

Drag, I just got my HKE 408 and Greg Good ported L92/LS3's up an running. Thru the TH400, a double slip yoke DS, and my 28 tall tires it made 454/450 uncorrected. It should be around 475-485 with correction. Track times to come soon. Good luck bro!

you could go with a 105mm TB ig you can make it work with the Stock PCM, i've heard that Harlan (y2khawk) knows how to do it.

Why would a 15mm bigger throttle body not work with the stock PCM?

The Accufab 105 is a Ford style TB. If this is a drag only car, give Accufab a call, talk to one of the guys(forgot his name) and he will ask about your setup and tell you how much cfm you need to flow. The only thing about the accufab is the linkage, but its been done and I'm sure it cant be that hard to do. Also, you have to re-wire the TPS and do something about the IAC, but nothing thats too much trouble.

Wilson also makes a 105, which is supposedly a Chevy style, so I was told. I didn't look into because I'm using my NW 90 because my car doesn't live at the track.

I'm going to gamble and say go with the 105mm for a drag only setup because I think the more air you can flow, the better, but it also depends on your setup. I would bet that your setup wouldn't gain more than a couple of HP going from a 90mm to a 105, but I'm no expert, just a regular 24 year old kid that likes LS1s.

And yes they all work with stock PCMs...

I am also curious about what to do with the intake setup going into the intake. I'm thinking just an aluminum pipe to either a lid or K&N rig.

I did some looking around and the only thing I found was a 105mm Accufab and 100mm Nick Williams. I can't find any sponsors who sell them or pricing. Anyone know of where to purchase?

but you can buy directly from accufab, i don't know of any ssponsors that are dealers.

Here's a pic of a setup I got when I was running a sheetmetal. I've since swapped out to a vic jr and kept the same intake piping. I have holes cut in my bumper support so the air comes right into the dual filters.

I can't confirm that the Nick Williams 100mm is officially for sale yet. I found it doing a search. He posted in it as well, saying they would be ready and I think it dated last month.

According to Accufab's website, the only 105mm throttle body they list is for a Ford Mustang.

It's a custom made piece I got off a member here. It's hooked into a vic jr w/nitro dave's elbow. It'll all be for sale in about a month.

Thats because most Accufab bodies are made for mustang applications, you have to run Ford TPS and get your IAC to work.

I've got a 105mm mustant TB w/ rewired ford TPS for the LS1 system and an older style chevrolet IAC with an adapter block.
