I was told the new mount is the 1LE. Like they stopped making the regular OE mounts. I hope that is true as I love my last 1LE mount 3 years ago.

What makes the 1LE mount so good? I'm just wondering because $72 seems kinda steep to me, that what I was quoted at the dealership.

Well that's dealership prices. Ouch btw!! But it is a firmer rubber formula than the stocker. It can take some abuse, and it is not as harsh as the Poly mounts. My car is a DD so i would like to keep the components that add to the interior vibes at a minimum.

I wanted a rubber one too, but was qouted over $80 for a new one at the stealership. I went with a poly one that was under $30.

I spent a long time getting the 1LE mount and paid like 85 bucks for it from my local chevy dealer, and it looked a bit different, but felt the same in the car. didn't fix the shifter movment at all. just pick up a poly trans mount from autozone.

Starting in 2001, the 1LE transmission mount became the only mount produced.

The book you have lists false information. Up until 2000 the 1LE option was an actual RPO code that included bigger sway bars, transmission mount, different shocks, lower control arms and panhard bar with solid rubber bushings, as well as front control arms with solid rubber bushings. Beginning in 2001 GM no longer offered the 1LE option as an RPO code. It became an option only available through SLP on SS and firehawks. The transmission mount was no longer included in the package because it now was included on ALL f bodies.
