It's not that much of a difference, only a few hundred rpm change on the freeway, 4.10's with a 6 speed is no problem, 2.05 final gear in sixth is not bad and most stock cars don't have that low of a top gear.

I had an 96 M6 LT1 with bbk shorties, Borla adjustable catback, CSR electric water pump, march pulleys, and 4.10s and I could still get 30 MPG on the interstate. Gas friendly mods saved the day there!

you will never be able to reach the rev limiter in 6th gear no matter what gear you put in. Yes, you would be able to do 250 if you could rev high enough in a windless environment, but unless you have about 1000hp dont even think about it. I was able to do 150 in 5th gear with 3.42s. Its not that much different. Look at the gear calculator. 3.42s are suppost to be able to do like 260mph at the top of 6th? But even if all the conditions were right our cars would fly apart at the top of 6th.

Exactly, conditions in our atmosphere will never allow that. Bob
