Question T56 Leak What could it be?

My T56 has a slow leak somewhere on top of the transmission. I have pulled the console and shifter cover and it is not leaking from the shifter. What else could be leaking up there? Is there a sensor or inspection plate that is loose and leaks when the fluid is moved when driving? Thanks

Is it a continuous leak, i.e., leaving a drip spot on the floor? Or is it just kind of wet towards the top of the transmission? Could be the vent tube. Perhaps the hose is cracked or something (although, that hose is pretty rugged). Have you recently filled the trans with fluid or had some work done on it?

I was thinking vent tube also since he said it was leaking from the top. Fluid sits in the bottom and only goes to the top when driving. The most likely culprit is the vent tube or shifter is not sealed. You should seal the shifter with some rtv silicone if you didn't before.

Is it possible to get to the vent tube without pulling the tranny? If the crossmember is loosen will the tranny tilt down enough to reach to the top of it through the shifter hole? I don't want to pull the tranny if I don't have to. Any ideas?
