Best cold air intake for 97 LT1
What is the best CAI for a 1997 camaro z28 I have LT'S, and y-pipe with custom made turndown. What is the best CAI for me? I have $125-175 to spend. I was looking at a Lengerfelter CAI for $145 on ebay any good? Comment and feedback are appericated. Thanks Devin

The are the same far as power. I have a moroso and a K&N is the same. The SLP has a bling factor to it. Just get one you can find the cheapest just make sure it puts the filter outside the engine bay.

I have a moroso CAI, it works awesome, looks decent, and i noticed an improvement in throttle response. bought mine from ws6store.com $185
the slp one is the best but slp is crap because they've repriced all of their products to outrageous levels.
I'm sure lingenfelter one will be good two, i just have never meet anyone using it. Its not difficult for a decent CAI to be made, and anything is better than the stock unit

Alright, I worked at a camaro junkyard for a while and saw both the moroso and the K&N. Holding them side-by-side, the K&N looks more restrictive so I chose to get the moroso. It did pretty well on my car. Now I have an SS Hood and the SS ram air intake which is pretty bad. So if you got the stock hood, I would go with Moroso but if you got an SS hood, find the ram air intake somewhere.

not too bad to do. i originally had a moroso and i thought it looked restrictive... so i started fabbing and brainstorming. i went to lowe's and bought a 90 degree bend of 3.5" electrical conduit. i cut the angle out where i needed to, just to make it get the right bend. bought an air force one intake elbow off of ebay, and some silicon couplers. WAH LA, theres my 3.5" CAI for about 115.00 (thats including the rattle can of black spray paint) haha, maybe this is some food for your thought. just figured i would explain it incase you want to try it. btw, i am running a MONSTER k&n filter and i moved my MAF down into the fenderwell... figured it looked better hidden out. i will snap a more recent pic tomorrow and repost.

i have to get it all, the very corner of the air dam on the driver side is cut in the corner to allow air into the lower bumper, cannot see it unless you get down to look into the dam... i had to knick the corner of the radiator cover also, i should have cut the angle of the tube a tiny bit more to tuck it about 1/16 of an inch lower so it didnt rub the hood... but i am lazy, and after a long day of working on cars i dont want to wrench on my own. i will post more tomorrow though
