Default Need help with turbo selection

Im trying to find the right turbo for my 4.3 vortec s-10. I know its not a ls motor but from my experience you guys seem to know your sh** on here compared to other forums that im on.

Im not trying make crazy horsepower or anything, Im basically looking for an increase in torque so i can turn the 33" mudders i just put on'er. wont be running anything higher than 8psi.

Im pretty sure i want to go with a T04E "57" turbo. Ive matched the garret compressor map to my application and it looks like it should work. I found a turbo for sale that says its a T04E turbo, 57 trim, .50 a/r.... but its not a garrett turbo. The garrett turbo compressor map that i was using was for a T04E 57 trim turbo with a .60 a/r. I cant find a map for the turbo i want to buy. So my question is, would the compressor maps be different for the same trim turbos, but one with .50 a/r and the other with .60 a/r? if not, do you have any idea where i can find a compressor map for a T04E 57trim and .50 a/r? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have turbo'ed a number of 4.3l's. The 57mm compressor wheel will work good, you will want a bigger exhaust side though. The fueling is the major problem on the 4.3l's though. It can all be worked around though.

.50 a/r is the ratio for the compressor, the question i was asking was whether or not the compressor map for the turbo im buying is the same as the garrett with the .60 a/r compressor, they have the same compressor trim, T04E 57 trim, im just worried about the a/r. The turbine side a/r is .63 so i should be good as far as that goes.

Little on the small side for a 4.3l. That turbo is better suited to a 4cyl motor. There is a lt better choices out there. Unless you are just looking for a really, really cheap turbo.

its a stock motor, it will rarely see 4500 rpms.... im looking for alittle torque boost around 2k, for pulling and highway cruising. is there a big difference between a .50a/r compressor and a .60a/r compressor map?
