Default smooth and painted wiper cowl

Just looking for other peoples thoughts on this.
Smoothed and body color painted wiper cowls? Thinking about doing it, but have never seen it before. Any one ever seen this? thoughts about it?
I have one of them smoothed and painted LPM and I have to say i think its great looking.

Here are a few pics. Not a real major thing, but the stock color for these is black and they have that textured finish. the passenger side one has already been smoothed, painted and cleared. Just have to wet sand it now. The driver side still has to be smoothed and repainted. I did painted that one first to see what it would look like painted, then decided to smooth them

Yea I guess it depends on what color car it is. On a dark color car it would not show as well

I think it looks kinda ghetto in my opinion... But then again, that's probably because of the fact I know what it's suppossed to look like If I didn't know it could be pulled off as factory looking.

I would be satisfied just applying some kind of durable clear over the stock panels to make them shiny as opposed to the dull color they are stock.

You guys prefer that dry black look that doesn't match anything else on the car?

deff takes more time than money. Started with 60 grit to get rid of the texture and worked up to 300 to make it smooth. Then a few coats of filler primmer. Wet sanded with 600, then a few coats of color, then wet sanded again. Finished up with a few coats of clear. Still have to do the final wet sand of the clear, but it looks so much better in person than it does in the pics

yea there are some colors that it might not look great on painted the body color, but you could always smooth it out and paint it gloss black or satin black. I really think anything is better than that textured gray that the factory gave us
