well how much power are you making? what kind of converter would you be using? how tall are your rear tires? if you dont drive it much my vote would be a th400 with a brake.

I WOULD BE RUNNING A 3500 STALL OR SO....THE MOST I WOULD DRIVE IT WOULD BE 50 MILES EVERY OTHER WEEK. I am looking to be putting down 600-650 hp after my engine build..I just didnt want to have to change my gear setup if i didnt have too

Like what was stated earlier... the tire size and camshaft will dictate the gear you will need. $.56's can be too much for a 1/4 mile pass.

We run a 4.30 with a 33/16 tire on the Nova, are at 1150 h/p N/A and run through the traps ~ 7900 rpm in the 1/4. It would need a 5.14 and a 30/16 tire for the 1/8 mile. (But this is not a daily driver as you can tell.)

So you can see the importance of tires. Need more of your equation to answer your question!

Hope that helps.

a 3500 stall is a little weak if you ask me. im putting a 4000stall in my car with a cam only set up. and our race car has 4.88s with a 31 inch tall tire, but you didnt mention what size tire your running....
