Default stock '01 Z28 M6, do I need posi additive?

I have a completely stock '01 Z28 M6, I'm going to change gear lube for the first time in this car very soon. I've read some posts where people ask this question before but I'm a bit confused, do I have the the type of rear end that needs the additive? I've read that synthetics aren't good for the clutches in certain rear ends, but of course my manual says to only use synthetic axle lube. Does this apply to my rear end, should I stay away from synthetic? And if I don't need the FM additive, would screw something up to use it anyway?

Default

I believe all the 01 and 02 cars have the Torsen differential, which does not require the additive. I have never used additive in mine, and no problems. I have used Redline and Mobil 1 gear lube.
