Default Cam/Manifold/Carb combo

I have a stock 1970 corvette 350/300-hp small block and need recommendations on what
Cam/Manifold/Carb combo works well with this engine. I want the most response and performance I can get and stay with in the factory 5500 RPM red line.

Do you want to keep it as street friendly as possible? I say a Holley 650, performer intake(airgap if you want) with somthing around 220-224@.050 with .480ish lift. Would have great down low throttle response and pull great from 1500-5500. But at 5500 it would be running out of steam.

Here is a good intake to use from Weiand, part # 8016. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Weian...QQcmdZViewItem

Here is a good cam & lifter kit from Crane. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...2&autoview=sku

You will want a new set of valve springs for your new cam. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-C...QQcmdZViewItem

Here is a nice Demon carb that would work very well with these other components. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...10002_50600_-1

I like my cam selection better, the 220 224. Would be really snappy with plenty of torque and a decent amount of power.

I'm not saying that your cam selection wouldn't have plenty of TQ & HP, but he only wants to rev the motor to 5500 rpm. The Crane Zcam has a basic operating rpm of 1200-5200 rpm. Add 500 rpm past max cam rpm for your shift point and you get 5700 rpm. Which is where he wants to keep his shift points for the stock motor.
