Default Crazy F-body/GTO IRS Question

Would it be possible to swap out the solid rear in my SS for a whole GTO Rear suspension including the IRS?

7.5" ring gear, I believe. They hold up fairly well and should do *decent* lighter F-body, unless you get too crazy with the RWTQ. Personally I swapped mine out for the 8.8" ford unit. I got my center section from a Lincoln mark 8. If you are starting from scratch, it wouldn't be very wise to use the stock GTO center section when you can fab up the center from the Lincoln or a Mustang cobra just as easily. You can get axles for this application, in the GTO that is. The stock GTO rear has a VERY limited choice when it comes to internals such as gears, lockers and stub axles, and are WAY TOO expensive might I add.
