Drag Racing Tech - Car jumps hard then falls on it's face?

Took the Z to the 1/8th yesterday and was plagued with a problem. The car would jump hard and pull the fronts and then it would fall on it's face. I know that it would grab hard at first and then you could feel it lose it's charge. It was detectable in the '60 foot times. Tires are 26'x10' et drags. 60' times ranged from an unbelievable 2.45 to a still not so stellar 1.77. Mph stayed within 3 tenths on all 5 NA runs. My question is would my injectors be whats hindering the car? I know that the tune needs work, a lot of work, but during a scan on the street the other day my injectors were recording 109% cycle duty above 6300. Any guess as to how much this would affect my et? On the way home I also got a 0172 and 0175 code, which is rich fuel trims in bank 1 and 2. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need a tune.

Yeah, I've got HP tuners but I'm still working on figuring everything out. I don't want to get to comprehensive untill I get bigger injectors. So you guys think that the majority of my problem comes from my tune? Or the injectors? Or both? Sorry for all the ?, I'm just trying to figure this out. Thanks again.

I had a similar problem earlier this spring. Launch hard, fall flat on it's face, converter would flash and off I went. I could only manage a 2.00 short time. Turns out the tune went all wonky for some still unknown reason. The computer took 15 degrees of timing away. Tuner to this day doesn't know why. It had something to do with traction control and the tune (although my car was never a TC car anyway). Tune's awesome now and haven't had any issues since.

Sounds like a power issue, most cars that hit hard off the start and bog down either don't have enough power or gear to keep the car moving.

that sounds odd...im untuned (mostly stock), but mine does the same thing no matter what the launch speed is (m6) or how much you try to slip the clutch, and im a tcs car even though i ALWAYS turn it off...

I'm wondering if the car is hitting hard and then falling off because the injectors are maxing out shortly after launch. Car has 3.73s on 26'' tires so the gear should be enough and it has heads and cam so the power should be there, if not I would suspect the fall off in the tune or the stock injectors.

Looks like you have an auto. What converter?
