Default Finally got the Nova to the track

It was actually a couple weeks ago. First time at the track w/ the turbo setup. Stock shortblock 5.3 w/ 15psi

Time slips in order:
60ft ET MPH
1. 1.69 10.72 127
2. 1.58 10.60 126
3. 1.51 10.59 126
4. 1.65 10.72 125
5. 1.60 10.50 128
6. 1.55 10.61 126

Passes 1-4 were hot lapped, I could feel the timing being pulled out cause of the higher air intake temps (intercooler heat sink). And pass 6 was right after 5, I let it sit an hour to run #5. It is a pain trying to hold the car and spool up, The car seemed to come on at the 60ft.
initial timing is set at 19* and my AFRs are 11.4:1 on 93 octane , PCM is programmed to pull timing out when air intake temp past 125 degrees. Im going to bump this up. All of this was set for testing and monitoring.
Car weighs 3640 w/ me in it.

I later logged it and my timing midway through 2nd gear was at 11 degrees.

Taking it again next week with a few tuning changes. Also adding a 50 shot of spray to get it going off the line harder.

Any opinions?

Have you thought about methenol? That would really help the setup at the track. It will also help spool out of the hole.

Ive never even looked into it. I had an extra nitrous kit (nozzle) and just got 50hp jets for it. I will see how that works.

You should think about it.I bet you'll run full timing no problem down the track and pick up alot of ET.

Thanks,
Yes its real quiet, sounds kinda sloshy and weak driving around. No one has a clue it has a turbo. ...quite funny. Even at the track unloading it from my trailer...some guy said to my friend "i hope that thing is faster than it sounds".
Kinda sounds like a school bus..lol. And then the A1000 fuel pump is as loud as the exhaust.

dam what a sleeper. I miss my 71...
good times especially on pump gas. what were the 1/8 times?

interesting elbow. how is the throttle response on the street?
it looks like it would give the air time to straighten out behind the TB...

1/8 mile times range from 6.70-6.75
Throttle response is ok, but it is a dog off boost.
The elbow has a decent radius to it. Heres a better view. I made the top of it out of too thin of material, like .065" Ive blown it apart twice. I will make another (better) one this winter.

Tottally bad *** my mustang is a very similar set up and i ran 134 mph but only 11.0 due to having a hard time building boost off the line as well, Im adding a two step and trans brake and hope that helps spool up as the brakes just cant hold it at the tree.My set up is :

Stock 5.3
Arp rod bolts
Mild comp cam
turbonetics T76
12 psi
Pump gas
2800 feet above sea level

Next year it will get 6.0 heads ported as well as forged slugs and way more boost alongwith meth injection hoping for 9's and mid 140mph hopefully.

BAD *** CAR BTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what converter. I have my 2 step set around 3600 and it was leaving on 5-8 psi and going 1.35 on dr's. My car is pretty laggy with the big turbo and low compression engine.

I have a TCI Super streetfighter 4000 stall. I tried having a place build me a custom one but they messed it up and it stalled at like 2100, wouldn't even make boost, so i threw this one back in that I had. Im hoping messing with the timing i can get a it more MPH out of it.

lol I'm using a 3500 streetfighter. it hasnt splattered yet...

it gives me about 5psi on the footbrake and flashes to 5000 or so

C-16 and full timing will give you that nice topend charge.
