Default How hard is it to put a cam in a LS1?

I'm thinking about putting a new cam in my 98 Z.. But I was wondering how hard its going to be. Any suggestions/hints/things I should know before I buy one?

Thanks.

Also, if someone has one they would reccomend, and why, i'd also be interested in hearing that.

Go to http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=3&pcid=51 and call up 225-754-7223 and talk to Patrick, one of the guys at TR about a custom cam to your specs and what you are going to use it for. GREAT PRICE, and your cam is made for your mods and future mods.

You want to know how hard its going to be and any hints. If you need suggestions or hints thats telling me you shouldnt do it. Its not the toughest, but it is pretty tricky if you have never done it. If you are changing the cam you should consider changing a few of the other internal parts also.

EDITED..........PLEASE....Read this also before you do any purchasing, and I do recommend Thunder Racing. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/327734-cam-guide.html

PS PatrickG is the guys name from TR on the forum here, PM him if you need anything else.

IMO the hardest part is removing the radiator and getting past the a/c condenser. Really the rest is relatively easy compared to other v-8 motors.
