Default Single Turbo question for my 67 camaro

I am thinking about building a single turbo motor on my 67 camaro build. I found some turbo headers for it and was wondering if the size was ok. The header and turbo flange are 3/8" thick and the primary tubes are 1 5/8". 321 stainless steel headers. What do you all think?
TIA

should be fine if its a small block. I know someone who just made a 1000 at the wheel with 1 5/8 headers on a 408.

Give some more info on your plans for your setup such as which engine, how many cubes, how big a turbo, street or race, etc.

Yeah, yeah, sorry guys. It was late when I posted that and wasn`t thinking. It`s a gen1 sbc 383. I have no turbo yet and don`t even begin to know what size and what not to buy. The motor will have the Holley ramjet fi setup as well. I`m not looking for huge numbers. Maybe 650hp at the rear wheels max. What do you think?

about 15psi, good flowing heads, low comp (preferribly 8:1-8.5:1) decent sized intercooler, and a cam with something other than the popular 108-110LSA.

15psi? that much huh? shows how much I know about turbos. I plan to run a roller cam setup. I want power brakes, so I`ll need good low idle vacuum for sure. I don`t need a huge cam, but something nice. I was thinking about AFR heads. What size? Thanks guys

If the engine truly makes 400hp at the wheels right now, maybe only 10-12psi to achieve those numbers relatively easy. With a turbo, you don't need a huge cam... maybe something in the 23x/24x range with a 114-115LSA. Don't know much about the AFR heads for gen 1's, but you could run something in the 220cc intake size, with large chambers...

This is a street car. Not a race car. I would like to have as much low rpm power as possible. I don`t that I would want to go as big on everything as your mentioning.

Go check out the GM section on turbomustangs.com Just do a lot of searching. There are a bunch of first gen Camaros with turbo SBCs in them over there. Lots and lots of really good info over there. Just make sure you register and search a lot before asking any questions. There are brutal over there if you ask a question that has been answered dozens of times already.
