Default OK is security light blinking different than steady?

my key read 2.99 ohms and i wired 3 1k ohm resistors together, wired it into the two white wires inside the orange sheath and..... nothing.

I know its vats but all i see is people talking about the light staying on.. not blinking. is there a difference?

edit... i tested the resistance of the resistors i saudered together and they measured 2.94 ohms.. according to this chart.. http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#pass_key ... i have key number 9 and that resistance should still work..

another question.. should i plug the resistors into the two white wires in the orange sheath or into the connector with the purple/white and black/white wire?
