Gears & Axles - Quick question for you guys

I am swapping a LS1 and a 4L60E into my 72 Camaro. The tranny has been drained of fluid before it was shipped to me. How much Tranny fluid do these hold? Still has a stock convertor in it. Also what ATF fluid are you running? My friend is an Amsoil dealer and get me a pretty good deal on thier synthetic oil. Any suggestions?

I'd Use Dextron III and skip the expensive oils.

I forgot the capacity, but Buy 2 cases and you'll be good to go. You can allways return the un-opened case if you don't need it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I'd get an aftermarket converter too. Makes a big difference.

Thanks, Dextron it is. Yeah ive been reading all the convertor debates on here, Havent decided on which brand I want to get yet. Starting to lean towards the TCI but, I need to get the car running first.
