difference between Long and short blocks??

Default difference between Long and short blocks??

What exactly is the difference between long and short blocks other than longblocks comes with heads and cam? Thanks!!!

That's pretty much it. Shortblocks are just the bottom end, longblocks are a complete engine.

short block = block and rotating assemably
long block= short block plus heads, and i sure some places have options for a cam and oil pump and all that good stuff.

Reason I am asking is because the price difference between longblocks and shorts seems like more than just cam and heads.

longblocks come fully assembled top to bottom. shortblocks are just the block, crank, pistons, rods for the most part.
