From what I understand they're all pretty much the same.. But I know someone's gonna shoot down that statement.. MTI sells a good one - www.motorsporttech.com

I bought my ASP pulley from MTI, almost seven years later and all is good.

I also put another one on my T/A, three years later and all is good as well.

Peace,
Craig.

I started building my '01 first and put a SLP on it. It was a very difficult install. For the '99 I went with a ASP. Much easier install. The quality on both is excellent though. Both are doing a great job too. Anyone else had trouble with installing the SLP, or am I the only one who struggled like hell to get it installed?

any of them.. they all do the same thing.

not to be grammar police or anything, but the stock one isnt an underdrive, it's just the crank pulley. underdrive means it's smaller than the stock one, thus drives the accessories slower, letting the engine put a little more power to the wheels.

you're worried, especially since you have an m6 car. idles higher at a stop than an auto.

don't worry, i have it and you'll be fine. If you have a high power stereo, get the OVER-drive alt pulley when you get the UD pulley.

Don't worry, you don't need an ALT pulley or any other pulley for that matter. Just get the crank pulley.

Like I said before I have an ASP crank pulley on both cars, one being a 427. On my 427 I've driven in the rain at night with the rear defroster on with a stereo that has 2 amps. I don't know how anybody would need an ALT pulley unless they have some HUGE *** system in their car.

Peace,
Craig.

Its not as big a deal for the M6 cars.... but it can be a minor issue with A4 cars. When you are driving its fine. But when you are stopped at a light the voltage can drop. Mine will drop to about 9-10 volts, so all the electrical stuff suffers (AC, fans, stereo, power steering) Like I said, its a minor issue, and most can live with it, but in CA where its hot in the summer I want every spare volt workin that AC

I prefer my alternator to not work as hard, I have the overdrive alternator pulley even though I have a m6. With every light on, a/c and defroster, the voltage doesn't budge unless I drop to 600rpm which can happen sometimes if you release the clutch after revving up a bit or are launching off a hill. Without the overdrive, I think it'd put a bit more stress on the system as a whole.

The underdrive is rated for 25% from stock, so if you idle 900rpm for a stock m6, it'll be like you are idling 675rpm for the accessories. To put that in perspective, an auto car idles around 650rpm stock. That means all your accessories are functioning like they are in an auto car, which they can handle fine.
