Default Gettin a 3.73 gear. Got some ?'s

Im gettin a 3.73 soon and was wondering if i need anything else to go with it?? Or would my rear end be fine with just the gear?

You need the installation kit. comes with all the shims, pinion nut, crush sleeve, gear marking compound, new ring gear bolts, locktite, and usually new bearings. Make sure you're getting the right gears for your carrier, I made the mistake of getting 3 series gears for my 2 series carrier.

and if you want some added insurance the stud kit is 20 bucks, it replaces the main bearing cap bolts and the TA cover is a little more expensive but will give added strength, they aren't required though.

save your $ and buy a 9" ford, Trust me. I did a gear swap and wasted a bunch of money (allthough I did sell my 10 bolt and recovered most of my money). for the $500+ you will spend, You will wish you saved it for a better rear end. Just my .02

but you will still need to spend money on gears for that.... I would go with the install kit... as long as its not a dragster you should be pretty well off..
