that is very interesting that with just a cam the ta is putting out almost the same that the fully built stang did.

Just thought it was a cool comparison, carb vs EFI, Ford vs GM. Compression on the 347 was 11:1. Wonder if it was the Ford cam or the carb on the Ford that cost all that torque. The Ford carb was never tuned.

did you need to flycut with the vindy?

Yea, the T/A would smash the Stang, even though it had a lil more peak, under the curve is where it mattered.

That's great results for a 347 most around Tampa all motor are at about 340-360 wheel! And most cam only ls1's are around 400-420 wheel. Both good running cars u have for the mods.

Exactly, this is a GREAT graph to show those people that care about peak power.

Hey Bob. I am trying to track down another ticket. I waited too long...

As for the TA smashing the stang, the stang went 11.1 @ 122mph. with a C4 and a 2500 stall convertor on stock suspension. Pretty much a matter of weight and softer suspension.

That 5.0 cam is huge. Would have picked up bottom end with a cam sized like the LS cam, though not sure how much may be lost on the top end.
I had a cam that was 272 at .050 with .620 lift 104 LS and it didnt want to get out of its own way until 4500 in a 306 Ford. Had a 5K convertor and 5.14's. Shifted at 8700rpm. What a ride that was in the 2100lb 'stang it was in.:chug:
Oh, lack of carb tuning can hurt big time.

What intake are you running?

That's a great comparison. I would imagine the Stang was much much lighter and would pull the TA, maybe not so much down below 4000-4500 or so where the TA's making all of that torque, but above that, that Stang must fly!

X2 on the flycutting question. I'll do a search as well because I think I remember you posting when you installed that cam.

On the Stangs cam...is that 270/278 at .050 or advertised?? If thats at .050 thats a big sum bitch. I cant beleive it ran good with only a 2500 stall! Both sick fast cars.

Best 60 ft with the stang was only 1.67 lol. Bought the c4, stall, and shifter out of the back of a car at Atco for $300

TA had a stock LS6 intake.

you guys also gotta remember your stock heads flows a lot better then ours. Also i wonder if that stroker would have picked any more up with a pro systems carb.

very nice numbers again out of a stockish ls1

The heads on the 347 here outflow a stock set of ls1 heads by a mile.
