alternator question

alternator question I noticed the last couple of times at the track my battery/alternator gauge was pointing to the left as though it was discharging. after a little it goes to normal. Could this be from revving to 7000 at the track? I rarely drive it on the street, just to get it to the track. I only have a crank to alternator belt and it is tight.
