Default corvette alt pulley removal

i need to remove my alt pulley and replace with an 8 rib(procharger installation) im using the corvette front drive setup-the pulley seems to have a one way clutch in it, but should only be a factor replacing the bolt-i cant get the bolt to move with the impact wrench, broke my torx socket-did a search, seem others have trouble getting them off also-is it just that tight?

I used a rubber belt wrench. I wrapped it around the old pulley, and then used an 18" 1/2" rachet. Kind of a PITA, but it worked.

well, i decided an impact wrench wont work, rattles it to much and breaks the sockett, starting to bugger the bolt up, i'll have to try and hold the pulley and try a long breaker bar-brand new alt, sure hate to mess it up-they must use loctight or have buba install them

I used an impact on my 2004...Grabbed a hold of the pulley with my 24" channel lock pliers and hit it with the impact and it came right off...
