Default $7500 to spend on mods. Need help and or ideas.

I have a 7500 budget and would like to hear some ideas. Any and all would be great. Is it naive to think 500+rwhp can be acheived. Please help. Thanks

Full bolt-ons, built tranny/stall, cam, spray and tune. Will leave enough left over to get some suspension or sticky tires. Should be well north of 500 at the wheels.

If you count spray, you should be over 500 easily.

I would get full bolt ons, heads and cam and then add some spray. If you go this route you will have money left over to go towards a built trans and suspension

Or you can buy a 402/408. THere is way too many options with that kind of cash.

You need to narrow this down by stating:
1. How you use this car
2. How many miles you drive
3. Is this your only car
4. Your budget
5. How long you plan to keep it

That said -
1. Koni shocks $800
2. Strano sway bars $300
3. C5 Front brake upgrade - $500
4. Lid - $100
5. Port TB - free
6. LS6 intake - $300
7. Headers - $500-1000
8. Converter - $1000 with TUNE
9. Get some better seats (TA, etc) - $500-1000

Finally, if this is your daily driver, save the rest for a major driveline fix.
If it's not, do a nice heads & cam package with AFR heads.

Make this thing safe and controllable and comfortable -- THEN faster.

big thing is if you install it or if some one else installs it. that makes about a 100hp difference with that kind of money

get the aps twin turbo kit. With the rest of the money put it towards a 4l80e at performabuilt tranny on layaway.

You would have one sick ride.

Or you can go out and buy a nice beater car and a heads and cam package for the SS.

Damn, thanks for all the input, now my head is really spinning. My car is a garage queen because I have a work vehical. I never drive it during the week and as far as the weekend, only if it is nice out. I want to change that lifestyle. I intend to race as much as I can next year. I did take the ss to car shows on Sunday's but whats the point in sitting next to it in a parking lot. What I really am getting at, is I want a car that can keep up with the new z06's out there. To bad I can't just win the lotto and buy a new z06. Oh well, keep the idea comming. Oh and on the install aspect, I am going to have it professionally done. The only problem that I have is who to trust and if I have to trailor it to another state. Anyway thanks again. Jeff
