Default help with drag suspension shocks and ta length

ok as far as shocks go hal, strange, or afco? double or single?

i know ill proll need a 300 spring!

ta, long or short? i beleive short hitts harder so i might need it to help get off the line right?


my car is a lt1 385 with a 76mm frount mount, proll lookin in the 600-700 power range, the car is a m6 and has some weight off the front, no bumper support, no ps, no ac, tube k. i think my 330 will determine how it runs!

Front shocks go AFCO doubles if you can afford them, Strange single adjustable at the minimum. Rear shocks try the Competition Engineering 3 way adjustables. A bunch of poeple have great results with them and they are not expensive. If you have enough tire and you can hook the shock of the clutch then a short T/A will rule if you tune it to not flip the car over backwards . If you have the money get the Madman, or Burkhart, or Wolfe torque arms. They allow you to adjust the IC a lot.

I have gone 11.42 @ 116.24 with a 1.47 60ft on a trans mounted chrome moly torque arm (pinion angle set at -2.5) and QA1 "R" shocks with 275lb springs in the front and Comp Engineering 50/50 shocks with stock cut springs in the back.

The AFCOs are one of the best out there, but you can get by with the single adjustable stuff. If you get a single adjustable, make sure you get ones that have fixed, firm compression & adjustable extension so you don't come down hard on the launches.

If you have the money Afco double adjustable front and back.

If money is a concern, each selection gets cheaper as you go down.

Strange double adjustable front, single adjustable rear.

Strange or Qa1 single adjustable front "r" shock, fixed compression, single adjustable rear.

The cheapest way, strange or qa1 "r" fixed compression front and C/E 3 way adjustable rear.
